Ok I'm trying to figure out how the recalculate the carbs when you make Sugar Free Pudding using heavy cream instead of milk. Has anyone done this already?

I'm not familiar with the product, but does the box have nutritional information for "prepared" vs. "mix only" or something like that? If so, then use the mix only numbers and add in the information for the cream.

No the box just has the total count (7 per serving) when it's made with milk. I wish they did it separate!

Sugar free pudding (ie Jello brand) has 6 carbs per serving before you add liquid.

just keep in mind too..that the sf pudding is not allowed in induction and you still have to add in the carbs for the cream. it's full of chemicals and modified food starch. You are much better off without it.

You can make your own "pudding" with cocoa whipping cream and splenda- pretty satisfying.

There's no carbs in the cream I use or less than 1 gram. I'm not in induction either :)

One Tbsp of heavy cream has 0.42g carbs.

Some people count nothing if less than 0.5g and 1 if less than 1 but more than 0.5g.

This is a great, textbook lesson for all of us. Heaving cream can state, like Lisa mention 0 grams of carbohydrates...yet, the true value is .42 grams per tablespoon.

There are 16 tablespoons in a cup times 2 cups in the recipe...total of 13.44 uncounted carbs plus 6 carbs in the mix...total of 20 (rounded) carbs for the pudding. 4 servings = 5 net carbs; 2 servings (hey it's Atkins friendly with only 3 net carbs from the mix) and you have a hidden 10 extra carbs in your daily intake.

Happens all the time and can be the difference in a good week and a "stall" or eek...a gain!

The serving size is 6 servings which is the guide I used, and it's not something I would do daily. I look at it like a treat.
